Immigrating to Canada under the Federal Skilled Worker Visa for Permanent Residency

New process starting June 26th,  2010

Skilled Workers applications for Canada are now accepted for Qualified specialists that have a University Diploma , several years of documented experience , high proficienty in English ( speaking and writing) and that are of a age limit of 49 years

In general , these are the minimal conditions to be accepted , but other factors such as work experience in Canada, studies in Canada, family in Canada and the level of education and language skills of the spouse can add points to the Skilled Worker Applicant under the Adaptability criterias.

In general you need 67 points to be considered under Federal Skilled Worker Class

  • Education (maximum 25 points) - Diplomas required

  • English and French language ability (maximum 24 points) - Language tests required before the file submission

  • Work Experience (maximum 21 points)-  Proof Required

  • Age (maximum 10 points)

  • Arranged Employment (maximum 10 points)- Additional process required

  • Adaptability (maximum 10 points)
     

In addition to the above , the past work experience must have been in a NOC ( National Occupation Classification ) position limited to 29 occupations under the Minister's instructions.

Note: If you are applying under one of the 29 eligible occupations, as of June 26, 2010, a maximum of 20,000 Federal Skilled Worker applications will be considered for processing in the following 12 months. Within the 20,000 cap, a maximum of 1,000 Federal Skilled Worker applications per eligible occupation will be considered for processing each year.These limits do not apply to applications with an offer of arranged employment.
